MLM psycho

Don’t you just hate when ppl in MLM who just love to psycho you…each time you talk to them.
They preach things like you shld change your mindset etc..but in such an annoying way that its such a turn-off..
Then they start talking bout their over-priced products that are supposed to have powers that no other product have, or the fact that their product is pure and safe compared to other products..bla bla bla..
And if you refuse to buy their product or hear their preach..then you’ll get that look like you are a doomed loser ??

Its just so obvious how desperate they are to convert you or to close a sale with you that they are willing to resort to making you feel guilty of not agreeing to purchase or joining them.

I wish there is a city in this world where we can just dump all MLMers into 1 place and let them psycho each other til they go crazy..and leave us to continue to live in peace and properly priced products which we can just go buy from the supermarket or online.

Best of all..I wish there are no more MLM in this world, cutting out all the over inflated prices coz companies have to pay layer and layers of agents & their uplines..thus us consumers are the poor victim.

4-day workweek to cut costs

I got this email today..thought i should share it on my blog.
how i wish it will be implemented here in malaysia too..
definitely possible..coz as of now also..we are spending 10-12 hrs per day at work..
so whats wrong with making it official and helping employees save some money.

4-day workweek to cut costs

WASHINGTON: Skyrocketing energy costs have fuelled fresh interest in the four-day workweek across the United States as a means to help workers as well as employers cope with the surge.

In Birmingham, Alabama, city officials decided to implement a four-day week starting July 1 for 2,400 municipal employees and later, for 1,000 police and firefighters.

The move, allowing employees to work four 10-hour days, may save up to US$1 million (RM3.3 million) annually in fuel costs alone for the employees, according to April Odom, director of communications for the mayor's office in the city of 242,000 people.

"Our employees are excited and ready to start today," Odom said.

"Our biggest motivation was to give our employees a cost savings due to petrol prices here. But it will also give parents an extra day with their children and save on day care costs."

In Maynard, Minnesota, the MacCray school district will start a four-day
week for the school year, saving around one per cent of its budget,
mainly from transportation costs.

"We were going out for transportation quotes and the difference between
the four-day and five-day school week was US$55,000," superintendent
Greg Schmidt said.

The shift will mean 149 school days instead of 172, but each day will
include an extra 65 minutes for instruction.

At the elementary school level, he said "there are some teachers worried
about the long days for (younger) kids."

On the other hand, he said, "the majority of high school students like
the idea. A lot of these kids work, so it gives them an extra day".

Petrol costs have surged to around US$4 a gallon in much of the US, up
some 30 per cent from a year ago.

The compressed four-day week is among many options being used by
employees and employers in the US, including telecommuting and carpooling, to keep transportation costs down.

A survey last year by the Society of Human Resource Management found 38
per cent of companies offering a compressed workweek for some employees
as part of flexible work benefits.

The US government for years has allowed some employees to work a
compressed schedule. Many local governments are also studying these
options.

Meanwhile, consulting firm Robert Half International, in a survey
released last month, said 44 per cent of professionals interviewed said
higher petrol prices have affected their commutes, with many changing
their work plans.

The changes include carpooling, using more fuel-efficient cars or
telecommuting. Some 26 per cent said they were working fewer days of the
week to trim commuting costs.

A survey by consultancy Challenger Gray & Christmas found the most
popular programme, utilised by 23 per cent of companies, is a condensed
workweek, which typically consists of four 10-hour days. - AFP

Petrol price increase by 78 sen as of June 6th 2008

Yesterday, petrol stations probably tripled their daily sales..upon the sms being sent around that petrol price will increase by 78sen.
Thankfully no one forwarded me any sms... so I was not compelled to forward it to other friends and waste my money on the sms.

Anyway... as a typical Malaysian.. my mum pestered me to go fill up the car full-tank.
which I had to do at 11.30pm after my uni alumni meeting ... and Gosh..the queue at the petrol station..wasted almost 30 minutes of my life there just lining up waiting to fill up petrol at RM1.92 for the last time in my life.

Its funny to see the man queuing behind my car panicking at 11.57pm that he won't have enough time to fill up petrol before 12 midnight...begging the pump attendant to allow him to fill in first. Lucky for him, the pump attendant said he could go and pay first whilst waiting for his turn.

Anyway...here it is..my receipt for filling up petrol at RM1.92 per litre for the last time at 11.57pm on 5th June 2008..

Wonder whether this would be part of history and potential collector's item...
Kids in future probably wont believe that we use to pay only RM1.92 per litre for petrol..haha..

Don’t be conned with your credit card rebates scheme!

I called Citibank today to enquire about the free RM50 voucher I was supposed to get when I signed up for Citibank Air-Asia & Citibank Shell cards few month ago.
Their offer was FREE RM50 shell fuel & double rebates up to 10% rebate on shell fuels if signed up during the promo period.
So I enquired more on the rebate rates.
Apparently the rebate rate is only 2.5%...and to get 5% rebate, you need to have carry forward balance above RM4,000.
Then I enquired what is carry forward balance…Apparently this is the amount outstanding not yet paid.
Imagine how shocked I was! For someone who always settles her credit cards bills on time and call to request for waiver of any fees / charges even if its 24 cents, hearing this was atrocious!

Basically the bank policy is for you to be entitled for higher rebates, you should have credit card debts and not settle it!
What the F%$#K!!
This is horrible policy…and I bet many stupid Malaysians just fall for it…Gosh!!

I miss being different

I had been thinking how normal my life is now.
I missed those days in uni when I was the first Malay Female President of the Overseas Students Service in Melbourne.
Those days where I walk around campus and people would recognize and talk to me, and when I enter the student lounge and have my staff come reporting to me.
Where at the tender age of 20 I was having meeting with top university officials and managing an organisation with a budget of about quarter of a million ringgit.
Leading the largest and highly respected International Student Organisation in Australia was no easy feat...but I enjoyed every minute of it.
I was different, yet I wasn't tortured for being different and I had the best times of my life.

Now...back in Malaysia..life is ..arrghh..so typical..working in this fuckin bureaucratic and political company with more than 20,000 staff... there's nothing to differentiate me from others who also graduated from uni and work here.
Looking at them when in the lift or whilst queueing up to pass the entrance... oh so boring with the typical outfits and hearing them talk..thats even worse.
Being different here would lead to being the topic of gossip and in the management radar...arrgghh..whateva...

Thus, its so refreshing to get this email today from the Millionaire Mind group, which I thought I should post here for my readers (and myself to come and read it again whenever I needed the motivation)...

March To The Beat Of Your Own Drum!

Your focus for the month is to "march to the beat of your own drum". In other words, don't follow the crowd! Doing this takes a lot of courage. At the same time, it will foster a lot more freedom, success and excitement in your life. The fact is, it's only when you march to the beat of your own drum, that you create new and original ideas.

So why is going against the grain such a challenge for most of us? The answer lies in our past. Remember in school, when we were taught to draw inside the lines? Nothing wrong with that, but if we let our spirit roam and drew outside the lines, then, look out! We'd be "corrected" until we developed the "habit" of staying within the artificial boundaries given to us.

Because of this early conditioning, most people end up living their lives this way, living "inside the lines", otherwise known as our "comfort zone". A comfort zone being an area of security, familiarity, and what others have taught us is "appropriate".

Anything or anyone who doesn't fit in with the "norm" often pays the price of disapproval and scorn. Because being "accepted" and liked is a primary source of security for the ego, most people do their best to follow conventional wisdom and fit into the mold. This not only creates our limits but also crushes our spirit. It takes "guts" to be different; to stand out from the crowd; to break free from the "clone drone" society and be a true individual.

Society creates a paradox; first it tells us not to be different, but then it pays us big money for doing so. Examples include Madonna, Elvis, The Beatles, Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream, Howard Stern, etc. These people created their own style and stood up for what they believed. They drew outside the lines and won! The fact is, people buy "energy". Creativity and uniqueness have a special energy to them. To the contrary, being "boring" is the kiss of death to success.

The real problem is that for most of us, our spirits were crushed early on. Spirit does not understand "drawing inside the lines". Spirit has no lines. It is limitless and has no boundaries. Spirit is about growth, expansion, light, love and joy. Individual, family and social "rules" do not apply. Recognize that when others criticize you, they do so out of fear. But you can be sure that inside each of them is a "spirit" secretly applauding you for breaking free and wishing they had the courage to do the same. Be their inspiration!

Your focus for the next 30 days: Instead of squashing your individuality, celebrate your uniqueness. Instead of getting lost in the crowd, dare to stand out! Get creative. Do something extraordinary. Be unusual. Whatever business you are in, figure out a way to do it, package it, or market it differently than everyone else. The "march to the beat of your own drum" rule also pertains to money and investments. Remember, the masses are broke. Therefore, to be rich you must be a contrarian. You must think differently and act differently. Buy when everyone else is selling. Sell when everyone else is buying. "Zig" when the masses "zag".

This month, let go of worrying about what other people think of you. Find your own pulse, your own rhythm, and your own beat and begin marching to that. Guaranteed - you will not only feel a renewed sense of spirit and energy but will also dramatically increase your income and wealth.

New recruits

I came in to work today and saw a group of new recruits queueing up downstairs to get their door pass.
In my head was thinking of shouting to them... " Run!! Run!! Escape before your devote your life and soul to this fucking politically bureaucratic company!!"

Then surprisingly when I sat at my workstation, someone in my department was bringing a new recruit around to introduce to everybody...
All I could say is just "hello" whilst shaking his hand.
Don't have the heart to tell him ...

" Welcome to hell.. where your performance bonus will be determined not based on your work but based on how much your lick the bosses til they get wet & shiny.
Where people complained of favouritism and backstabbing but the GM denies it and is obviously living in La-La Land (or perhaps because she is practising it herself anyway)."

Monday sucks..as usual.
